Where to Stay In Abu Dhabi: 5 BEST Areas + My Hotel Picks
Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE, is as you might have guessed it, all about luxury. On my recent layover from Europe back to Australia, I visited my friend in Dubai but since I was on an Etihad Airways flight, I had to take a little detour via Abu Dhabi as that's their main airport, so I stayed in Abu Dhabi overnight and had a look around.
Even though I have transitted through the airport many many times, this was my second time actually visiting the city.
From the moment you step foot in the Abu Dhabi International Airport to your hotel, and even the streets and restaurants, everything here has a polished and perfect vibe, similar to the one you find when staying in Dubai.
What I love about this city is that it consists of different islands, each with its unique charm and plenty of cool things to do in between. Whether it's exploring shopping malls, dining at fantastic restaurants, or enjoying theme parks, Abu Dhabi is like a playground for big kids aka adults.
And the best part is, amidst all the modernity, the charm and culture of older times still remain.
Abu Dhabi is quite a big city but there's really only a handful or areas you'd want to consider when you're looking where to stay in Abu Dhabi. Hopefully, this guide will make planning your trip a little easier and give you a good overview of the best areas to stay in Abu Dhabi.
