Grand Seminyak: Review of Bali’s Popular Beachfront Resort (Formerly Anantara Seminyak)
Nestled along the shores of Seminyak Beach, I recently got to stay at the Anantara Seminyak for three nights as my final stop on my Bali trip.
Recently, the hotel rebranded into Grand Seminyak, but the hotel and facilities stand the same.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby of this beachfront gem, I was greeted by the resort's Balinese elegance and modern luxury.
Traveling solo, I was warmly welcomed by the staff who offered me a drink. I had the pleasure of relaxing in one of the spacious sofa chairs near the reception, enjoying the refreshing ocean breeze blowing from the Indian Ocean.
Room Types & Hotel Facilities
Situated on the stunning Bali shores, Grand Seminyak, formerly known as Anantara Seminyak, is the ultimate chill spot.
Picture this – 59 roomy suites, each comes with a private balcony with a great jacuzzi and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected while soaking up the island vibes.
Now, let's talk outdoor paradise. The beachfront infinity pool is where it's at and I spent most of my final days in Bali just lounging about catching those ocean views while soaking up the sun.
And the best part? You've got direct access to the beach, so the sand and waves are practically your backyard. You can also hang out on the beach, as they have beach beds for hotel guests so you truly get those ocean views.
Whether you're lounging by the swimming pool, chilling on your private balcony's Jacuzzi, or taking a leisurely stroll on Seminyak Beach, Grand Seminyak is all about that perfect blend of laid-back luxury and Bali's natural beauty.
Restaurants at Grand Seminyak (Anantara Seminyak)
Of course, this Seminyak resort has some great venues to eat as well. The breakfast is served buffet style with some a la carte meals right next to the pool and overlooking the ocean.
For a magical evening, the rooftop sunset lounge, MoonLite Kitchen & Bar, steals the show. Dining here is a delight, with a fresh seafood focus, it's the perfect spot to have a delicious dinner and sip on sunset cocktails while taking in breathtaking panoramic views. Make sure you book a spot on the outside balcony so you get uninterrupted sunset views.
If you're in the mood for beachfront dining, O Beach Bali (formerly Sunset on Seminyak) is the place to be. This second venue offers a relaxed atmosphere with a BBQ-style buffet in the evening, making it an ideal destination for families.
There's also live music on certain nights of the week with a band that's set up. It can get a bit loud when staying in a suite facing the ocean, but they stop around 10 pm so it's not bad and overall I felt like there was no other noise from nearby bars or venues that disturbed my sleep. I am an early sleeper and early riser typically.
Grand Seminyak Spa Treatments
During my stay, I indulged in a 60-minute Balinese massage at the rooftop spa, and it was nothing short of relaxing. The serene atmosphere, and the welcome tea, coupled with skilled therapists created a wonderful experience.
There are only four treatment rooms ensuring a personalized and exclusive experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in the soothing treatments.
Staying at the Seminyak Ocean Suite
The ocean views at Grand Seminyak are simply breathtaking! During my stay on the 5th floor in Room 509, the panoramic vistas of the ocean and outdoor pool right below were nothing short of amazing.
The spacious rooms are fitted with contemporary Balinese design and offer a range of settings to cater to couples, families and solo travelers.
Opting for uninterrupted ocean views or the luxury of a private pool is just one of the many choices available. My suite featured a lovely balcony with a day bed and jacuzzi. Some of the ground-floor suites boast direct pool access for a refreshing dip at any time, but I prefer the ocean views from a higher floor.
The bathroom was equipped with a separate tub and a soothing rain shower. The daily turndown service added a touch of luxury, ensuring a cozy and inviting ambiance each evening.
A standout feature was the expansive walk-in dressing room, offering lots of space and my little luggage almost felt a bit lost in it.
Grand Seminyak elevates the stay with its thoughtful design and amenities, providing an unforgettable experience immersed in comfort and style.
Grand Seminyak/Anantara Seminyak Location
Nestled right on the beachfront at Double Six Beach, the location of this resort is nothing short of a coastal dream.
With the gentle lull of the waves as a backdrop, Grand Seminyak offers a prime spot for anyone seeking the sun, sea, and sand experience. Moreover, the resort's proximity to numerous nearby attractions adds an extra layer of convenience.
I love a good morning walk and there's a great walkway that takes you all the way along the beachfront past all the little beach bars into Legian and I think you can even walk to Kuta!
I recommend you check out the nearby La Plancha for tapas, it's got beautiful decor. You also have a number of Seminyak beach clubs nearby such as Mano Beach House, Infinity Beach Club and Potato Head Beach Club.
From the Grand Seminyak Bali Resort to Seminyak Square, a popular shopping mall, it's a 25-minute walk or a short 10-minute drive. You have free parking outside the hotel or there are always Grab or Go Jeks nearby that you can easily order on the app.
Grand Seminyak/Anantara Seminyak – Final Words
If you're wondering where to go in Bali, Seminyak is a great place for couples and families. As a solo traveler, I must say, I overall prefer staying in Canggu though, I personally feel a lot more at home there, but everyone's different.
Overall, I liked staying at the Grand Seminyak, formerly Anantara Seminyak. With its beachfront location at Double Six Beach and breathtaking ocean views and immediate access to the sun-soaked sands, I had plenty of beach walks, swims and just chill time around the pool, perfect for my final days in Bali. Plus the Ocean Suite I stayed in was spacious and I spent every sunset on my private balcony just getting lost in the orange-purple skies.
