The 22 Most Instagrammable Places in Singapore

Most of you already know, I love sharing my travel experiences on my Instagram. All you need to do is flick through pictures of Instagram-worthy panoramas and post your own to make your friends slightly, or well, veryyy jealous. 

I also use Instagram for travel planning, finding cool spots in a new city, trendy cafés and unique experiences, that I otherwise would not have found. In this article, I will show you the best Insta-spots in one of my favourite cities in the world – Singapore.

1. Singapore Flyer

The incredibly panoramic views of Singapore that you can get from the top as you ride the Singapore Flyer are some of the best. The Marina Bay skyline and a distant glimpse of neighboring Malaysia are just perfect backgrounds.

2. Tanjong Pagar

Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from nature and take pictures of something like the Pinnacle@Duxton public housing architecture at Tanjong Pagar. All seven towers of the public housing are connected by a skybridge at level 50.

You can get incomparable views from the top of the bridge of the Singapore skyline, the port, the Central Business District, Sentosa Island and Chinatown.

3. Tiong Bahru

The old Tiong Bahru Estate neighborhood is noteworthy for its incredible ArtDeco architecture.

They make for excellent retro backgrounds to Instagram snaps. Take pics of the 1930s homes and shops as you stroll around. You can get more vintage inspiration as you stop at cute cafes and shops.

4. MacRitchie Reservoir

Just a short distance from the city is the MacRitchie Reservoir nature park. Go kayaking in the MacRitchie reservoir and watch the monkeys hang out along the boardwalk. Enjoy a fabulous treetop walk on the suspension bridge connecting the park’s two highest points.

5. Marina District

The Marina District teems with Singapore’s latest collection of world-class architecture.

The Marina Bay’s infinity pool is absolutely Instagram-worthy, as is the hotel’s rooftop bar and the incredibly alien landscape of Gardens by the Bay.

6. Bugis Street

If you’re looking for a while bunch of Instagram-worthy locations for your backgrounds, head to Bugis.

Get to Bali Lane and snap pictures of the amazing street art there. Capture the Sultan Mosque which gazes imposingly over the Arab Quarter on film.

As you stroll further into Bugis Street, you’ll find everyone’s favorite Instagrammable theatre, The Projector with its beautiful rooftop bar with its thrilling retro vibe.

On the backs of the narrow shophouses of Victoria Street are pastel spiral staircases that are worthy of a few shots.

7. Flower Dome

Immerse yourself in the world of perpetual spring in this cool-dry observatory filled with indescribably beautiful flowers.

The Flower Dome is located in the Gardens by the Bay and is one of the most popular attractions in Singapore.

8. Joo Chiat Road

Joo Chiat has some of the oldest of the old Peranakan shophouses left in Singapore.

The shophouses date back to the mid-1930s when they were the homes of wealthy merchants who displayed their wealth by decorating their homes ornately. The old nostalgic homes make this road one of the very Instagram-worthy places in Singapore.

9. ArtScience Museum

The Singapore ArtScience Museum is located within the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort. It is a place where art, science, design, technology, media and all sorts of creative ideas come together.

You’ll find tons of inspiration on the walls, ceilings and even outside the building for some cool pictures.

10. MICA / MCI Building

The lovely MICA building is located on Hill Street. It is a beautifully made structure with colorful window frames all over the building.

It makes for excellent Instagram-worthy shots.

11. Library @ Orchard

The Library is located at 277 Orchard Road, Orchard Gateway.

Feast your eyes on the beauty of this colonial library with its intensely dark furniture and shelves reeking of polish. Stepping into this library is like stepping back in time.

12. Bai Hong Qiao at Chinese and Japanese Gardens

The Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden, both located next to the Chinese Garden MRT line are connected by the Bai Hong Qiao Bridge.

The Chinese Garden has been modeled in the style of the northern Chinese imperial architecture and its landscape. Grab a shot of the bridge that shows a bit of each garden plus the MRT line for an amazing Instagram-worthy pic.

13. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, located at 288 South Bridge Road, Chinatown District is a Buddhist temple and museum complex.

The architecture of this temple is based on the Tang dynasty’s style. It was built to house the tooth relic of the historical Buddha.

The temple and its grounds make for an extremely Instagram-worthy pic, especially when the sun is setting. Also, don't forget to pay a visit to the rooftop.

14. Little India

Little India has all the sights, sounds and smells in Singapore. It's a unique place known for its many Indian restaurants that sit especially along Serangoon Road as well as Race Course Road.

There are many little alleys to explore. And malls filled with jewellery stores, tailor shops, food and so much more.There are also a few hip cafes and Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is worth a visit with its colourful statues of Hindu deities.

15. Cloud Forest

The Cloud Forest is a world of mystery, veiled in the mist that bursts forth from the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.

Stroll on the Cloud Forest Walkway and get the best aerial view of the mountainside below. Nothing could make for a better Instagram shot.

16. Supertree Grove

What could be better to make your account pop with color and alien-ness than The Supertree Grove in the Gardens by the Bay?

The Supertree Grove is gorgeous by day and unbelievable by night.

It is so otherworldly at night, with the exhilarating display of light and sound, that you’ll simply want to linger and do what you do best.

17. Helix Bridge

The spiraling, curving blue-colored metal roof of the Helix Bridge and the curving walking platform underneath make for a superb Instagram shot.

It’s visually stunning, especially when captured against the darkness of night.

18. Haji Lane

Haji Lane is artsy and a definite cultural haven for those looking for hipster kitsch and quirky stuff.

Haji Lane is located in Kampong Glam and teems with bars, nightclubs and quirky little shops that sell Arabian clothing, easy-buy fashion and jewelry.

The streets have dynamically decorated facades with bright colors and some cool street art that has Instagram OOTD written all over them.

19. Cast Iron Bridge (Bukit Timah Railway)

The nostalgic-looking Bukit Timah Railway Station is a favorite among photographers in Singapore.

This colonial railway station’s classic architecture and the quirky and quaint cast iron bridge that goes over Bukit Timah Road are very suitable for the perfect background.

20. Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin offers the perfect escape from the city’s metal and concrete façade. Get away from it all and train your camera on the natural and rustic elements on the island.

Pulau Ubin is the very last village in Singapore. Capture the poignant scenes of fishermen at the piers and the unspoiled beauty of this pristine island.

21. Henderson Waves Bridge

Henderson Waves Bridge is a well-known icon in Singapore and has been photographed a million times.

Each time you’ll find a different angle to explore with its beautiful skyline.

22. LeVel33 Rooftop Bar & Microbrewery

LeVel33 is the world’s highest microbrewery and one of the top rooftop bars in Singapore. Definitely worth a visit! With its stunning 360-degree views of the city’s skylines, this rooftop bar offers so many opportunities for the perfect shots.

Singapore is most probably one of the most Instagram-worthy cities ever, with its mix of architecture, the old and the new and quirky little cultural enclaves and stunning backdrops.
