Yoga has become vastly popular across the world in recent years and has become a commercially viable career for yoga teachers, providing a multitude of perks like working at your own pace, arranging retreats, workshops and traveling across the world.

Becoming a yoga teacher can be a rewarding experience, provided you choose a training that offers a fully embodied knowledge of yoga, teachers who hold space for your emerging unique teaching style, and a yoga form that resonates with your own practice.

Yoga New Vision

Even for those who are looking to deepen the practice, the right yoga teacher training provides the opportunity to delve deep into yoga philosophy, anatomy and the spiritual aspects of yoga, in addition to understanding body postures and physical alignments.

Yoga teacher training is a dime a dozen, available at varying costs online as well as in person across the world, which makes the process of picking one that’s just right for you a hard one. An aspiring teacher will need time to research to choose a training school that is designed to equip the participant with the necessary knowledge and awareness.

Bringing this much-needed balance into the picture are a few schools that are still teaching authentic Indian yoga practices and complementing them with Western knowledge to adapt to the modern lifestyle.

This kind of approach is one-of-a-kind as it molds and shapes the practice to breathe life into modern-day spiritual needs.

About Yoga New Vision and Its Founders

One such school is Yoga New Vision in Bali, where teachers like Deep Kumar and Sadhana Om, who are born in India and inherited yoga from their culture and tradition, offer the integration of the Eastern yogic path with the Western lens of science, creating a holistic yoga teaching experience.

Talking about the school and its vision, Deep says, “Yoga New Vision is offering a unique experience that is unlike any other school. Our approach is the perfect blend of Eastern philosophy with Western science, where we train our students to flourish in their own unique ways. Our teachers bring a rich lineage of Eastern mysticism from India, which adds to the spiritual aspect of the training. At the same time, Yoga New Vision is focused on the knowledge of physical postures to ground our students into a safe practice that equips them to teach diverse groups and varying levels of classes.”

In addition to this, the teacher training course covers the expanse of yoga philosophy as well as physical anatomy with experts in the knowledge who have been teaching for several years across the world.

Get To Know the Teachers & a Glimpse Into Devotion to the Practice

For any yoga teacher training program to really make an impact on an aspiring yoga teacher, the learning must be grounded in the Ancient Healing Map Pancha kosha (five layers) of yoga. This includes understanding the theory as well as a practical approach to take care of a yoga practitioner on physical, energetic, mental, intelligence and the bliss layer.

To bring this forth, Yoga New Vision has put together a team of teachers who are dedicated to bringing knowledge to the students with a systematic yet soulful teaching methodology.

Deep Kumar, who carries the profound wisdom of meditation, teaches postures, philosophy, and pranayama with that depth at YNV and embodies yoga on and off the mat. He imparts learning to his students in a way that fosters a deep love for yoga.

His way of teaching is not just focused on body postures, alignments and his command over the subject but also enables a safe and holistic practice rooted in both tradition and science. What sets him apart is his signature teaching methodology and diverse experience of having trained over 5000 students from across the world over the last 14 years.

As Deep leads the school’s vision, the co-founder of Yoga New vision, Sadhana Om, brings a heart-centric, devotional aspect to the teaching and learning environment. Her unwavering commitment to empathy, bhakti, and devotional practices are infused into her work and life, resulting in a teaching style that inspires her students to strive for greatness while keeping their hearts open.

Through her presence, she inspires others to embrace their strengths and bring their full selves to everything they do.

Speaking about healing modalities in the training, Sadhana shares, “By means of meditation, music, dance, as well as comprehending and integrating yoga philosophy into our daily lives, we establish a connection with our inner selves. At YNV, we are working with our students to help them come into their most authentic selves, which is the only way you can really embody the principles of yoga in ancient tradition. In these modern times, connecting with ourselves requires a certain amount of slowing down that can only happen when you have a safe space to be truly yourself.”

Teaching anatomy at a yoga teacher training is not an easy task as the average student at a yoga teacher training is generally a complete novice. Anurag Acharya, a physiotherapist by profession from India, teaches in a simplified manner with demonstrations and activities to make it easy for the student to understand the anatomy of the body.

With his physiotherapy background, Anurag is actively engaged in the healing and recovery process, especially with students who have previous injuries and discomfort. His hands-on approach aims to help them recover and heal.

Talking about his teaching experience, Anurag says, “It is important to be mindful of the balance of strength and flexibility when we approach our yoga practice. Both dynamic movements and stretches build a healthy body. Our focus at Yoga New Vision is to make sure all our students are fully aware of each joint and muscle in the body and how we can both strengthen and stretch the muscles without causing any damage to the joints.”

The heart of the program is the philosophy aspect, where Swami Atma Jnanananda Giri, from India, teaches mantras, the eight limbs of yoga and a multitude of wisdom in traditional Eastern ways. His energy is palpable and is felt by the students whether they chant mantras in his class, listen to his storytelling, or speak to him over walks around the resort.

Swami’s face lights up with a smile as he talks about his students, “What students take away from the classes is not just the understanding of how to live yoga in their lives but also how to be present in every moment. We meditate and chant together and it is what we experience in these classes that brings me back to the training each time.”

The 200-hour module of the training is focused on developing a teaching mindset in the participating students giving them a clear understanding of all aspects of yoga.

The teachers lighten up sessions now and then with dance and music, adding activities and talent shows to make the learning fun and agile, which keeps the students feeling good even as they are evolving in their

The course is enriched through the steady and evolving practice of asana and meditation, benefiting both physical and mental well-being.

Yoga New Vision Resort

Since several hours every day are spent in physical and mental learning, YNV caters to their students thoughtfully by providing vegan, non-processed all-inclusive buffet spreads for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It is over these meals that the students begin to bond with each other and meaningful connections are formed that transcend cultures and last a lifetime.

What Do Students Say About Their Experiences at Ynv

The students at YNV reminisce fondly as they speak of their transformation during the training and how it has helped them to find their voice as yoga teachers. Most students are filled with a sense of gratitude and a deep connection with the experience as well as the teachers.

Julie, who has been a physiotherapist for over twenty years and just recently completed her 200-hour training with YNV, says, “ If anyone is looking for an authentic and thorough yoga training course, I would recommend Yoga New Vision because they add value, competence and love to the experience of yoga and you will find confidence within where you are able to teach from the heart. For me, the evolution into yoga teaching came naturally because of the ease and support I had from Deep and Sadhana throughout the program. They really do know how to create the perfect blend of spirituality and physiological knowledge. ”

Another student, Caroline adds, “I previously trained for 300 hours with Deep and came to assist twice in Yoga New Vision. It was unlike any other training experience, being an assistant significantly adds up to your knowledge, hands-on adjustment and overall teaching skills. It nurtures growth and I encourage all 200hrs graduates to consider adding this valuable dimension to their yoga journey.

Katharina Brade speaks of her experience with a smile, “After having done my 200hrs with Deep, I did Yoga Therapy and Yin Yoga course with him too, I had so many breakthroughs. My healing journey started on all levels: physically, mentally and emotionally. This then encouraged me to assist in Yoga New Vision 200hrs and what I appreciated most is the holistic approach of Yoga New Vision and seeing how it changes the life of all students. It is so rewarding to see each student evolve in the training.”

“I simply can not imagine what it would be like to miss this experience. As a physiotherapist, I am so amazed by everything new I learned. It’s a beautiful merge of Eastern wisdom and Western science has been brought to me. Yoga New Vision inspired me to use this to help others”, says Negin Alai Nasab, another former student of YNV.
