A common misconception many people have is that you need to be experienced to hold an online entry level job that earns!

However, you can have a remote position or online job with no experience at all, if you find the right fit for you. There are tons of top companies like Appen, Lionbridge, Humana, and Dell who hire people for all sorts of positions globally.

Many remote jobs don’t even require many or any skills at all, if you are willing to learn while on the job.

The average pay per hour included underneath each job is for an absolute beginner and quoted in USD. You can definitely increase your rate once you get more experienced.

#1 Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant is someone who helps another individual or company by performing a broad range of tasks, all completely online.

You might help a business balance daily schedules, make phone calls or schedule appointments, prepare reports, book hotels, or manage social media. The entire purpose is to make their life easier by managing day to day tasks.

To become a virtual assistant, you can be hired by an individual or work for a company. Everything can be done at home with a computer and phone. You need to have good time management and organisational skills and be excellent at communication.

Otherwise, you will be completing tasks you already have experience with, just for someone else. After all, how often do you have to call the dentist or doctor’s office and schedule an appointment?

For this job, remember you might be working with sensitive information. It is normal to sign a privacy agreement which restricts talking about your clients.

Believe it or not, but there are many online writing jobs which require no experience. You just need to know where to look.

As a freelance content writer, you would work with a client or company to create a broad range of written documents.

Some freelance writers specialize in blog posts and articles, while others might create social media snippets. Some even write brochures, entire books, and professional website content.

You can start this remote job with no experience, but you will definitely gain it while working. You can apply for a broad range of positions and then choose a specialization which best suits you.

Many freelance content writers can even create a consistent and reliable client base which allows you to always have work available when you need it.

Sometimes, as a freelance content writer, you might be asked to work at a content mill. Content mills often offer reduced rates to complete bulk work. Mills often have lower standards than other employers, but you can make decent money.

The difference is your name will not be listed and someone else gets the credit.

If you choose to be a ghostwriter, you can still put the experience on your resume (if you did not sign an NDA). You can also expect to be paid more because you are signing away the rights to your work.

You often can set your own hours or will receive a schedule, and you only have to communicate with your bosses through email.

As a customer service representative, you will often be provided a script and guaranteed hours. You will have a contract and a fixed hourly rate, so this is a more stable remote job than many other options currently on the market.

The only catch is you must be comfortable in solving problems by speaking on the phone and need to avoid excessive background noise from pets, children, and construction.

A chat agent is another type of customer service representative. Only, in this scenario, you don’t need to talk on the phone.

You might be asked about a website’s products or to make a quote for services. Sometimes you might also need to schedule appointments and visits if you are the agent for a service-based business such as a construction team.

Being a chat agent is great if you are good at online discussions and prefer to avoid talking on the phone.

Once again, you will often have set hours you must be available, but you can be as noisy as you want.

Sometimes people will manage to boost their site to the top of a search engine’s listings by stuffing their documents with an excessive amount of keywords. While this might get them clicks, it does not mean their site is actually beneficial for readers.
