Built as a movie set originally, Pioneertown is actually a legitimate town. The post office operates as usual and offers a great weekend getaway.
Built in 1946, it was developed for actors and crew and then served as a backdrop for several television shows later. Enjoy live music and line dancing as well as taking loads of pics.
El Paseo Drive
El Paseo Drive, known as the Rodeo Drive of the desert, is situated just outside of Palm Springs in Palm Desert.
With clothing boutiques, world-class shops, restaurants and more, the El Paseo drive is indeed picturesque with that beautifully maintained floral line.
Kaufmann Desert House
It is one of the most defining pieces of desert architecture along with being one of the most significant mid-century designs.
Almost every design geek is sure to get impressed by the building’s dramatic lines. Kaufmann Desert House is a great spot and easily visible from the road so you surely won't miss it.
Moorten Botanical Garden
The lovingly curated botanical garden is a landmark of Palm Springs.
The family home, Cactus Castle and is worth a look and one will find hundreds of species of desert plants and cacti in the garden. Make sure that there is plenty of space on your phone as the golden light in the cactarium is indeed perfection for snaps.

Welcome Sign
When you enter Palm Springs, it is hard to miss the official “Welcome to Palm Springs” sign.
The classic sign is placed on the way into town on Indian Canyon Drive and has been present on postcards for decades. Stop in and take some great pictures of the spot and the sign.
Sunnylands
It is hard to ignore the plethora of pink walls at Sunnylands that dates back to 1960.
The perfectly landscaped grounds consist of a rose garden, labyrinth, and olive groves. Take a tour of the historic estate, and although one cannot take pictures of the interior, there are plenty of opportunities to photograph the exterior and the grounds.
